Ashley Mancia is a senior at Armijo High School. As a senior, she has gone through her fair share of challenges.
A challenge that she faces in her senior year of high school is figuring out what she wants to do after high school.
The biggest thing that stops seniors in their senior year is senioritis, which is when you no longer have the motivation to do your work, or go to class, and just stop caring altogether because they’re tired of doing it for the past 12 years.
As Ashley has gone through high school she feels that high school is only preparing you for college to a certain extent. You’ll probably get the gist of it once you get to college but college and high school are very different. High school can’t prepare you for the real world in college.
A highlight from Ashley’s senior year is that she’s doing the improv shows with the amazing Armijo High School Theater.
She has been on quite a journey to get to this moment, where she is about to walk that stage and say goodbye to her high school life. 10 years from now, Ashley sees herself about to accomplish or having already accomplished her dreams.
Now with all this being said, as Ashley says goodbye to high school and hello to the real world she has one piece of advice for the upcoming freshman and this is to start taking school a bit more seriously since it’s not middle school anymore, stay humble, and don’t do things that you think will make you “cool.” We wish Ashley good luck on her upcoming journey.
