Kai Badoy is currently a freshman on the JV football team. This is his first year playing. Badoy has been wanting to play this sport for 3 years, since he was 11 years old. #40’s positions are receiver and safety. His coaches and teammates would describe him as a player who still needs to work on improvement. He agrees that he is just a beginner and needs to continue to improve and be better. Badoy stated that his friends might call him “lazy”, but he is trying his best to work harder and give up bad habits. His daily schedule is school, practice, and home. To improve his performance, he is focusing on eating well, having good grades, and keeping up a healthy mindset. For future freshmen, his advice is to, “Keep going even though it can be painful.”
Football has taught him that teamwork and motivation are important. Badoy learned, “You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.” He had also learned to cooperate with the people around him and to find inspiration. Speaking of inspiration, he stated that one of his teammates is his role model. “I look up to Toa Atuatasi because he’s really good,” Badoy explained. During games, his goal is to be aggressive. He chooses to take on any challenge with an act of confidence. In the future, Kai wants to continue this sport and hopefully pursue it as a career. From now on, he is focusing on taking steps to take him toward this path.
