The new Marvel film “The Marvels” introduces an exciting combination of amazing characters from past Marvel movies. Characters like Monica Rambeau, Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), and Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) have joined forces in this cinematic venture. Monica has appeared in a few previous Marvel movies and series, making her first appearance in the movie “Captain Marvel” and returning in the series “WandaVision.” Monica possesses the power to transform her body into various energies, such as X-rays, gamma energy, cosmic rays, infrared, and radio waves. Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, starred in her own TV series on Disney+, “Ms. Marvel,” showcasing her abilities to shapeshift and extend her limbs. Carol Danvers, well-known for her immense strength and ability to fly, has her own movie titled “Captain Marvel” and has also been featured in “Avengers: Endgame.” In “The Marvels,” Carol, Monica, and Kamala find their powers entangled, requiring them to collaborate to save the universe.
Dar Benn, the movie’s main villain, becomes the new leader of the Kree, but with malevolent intentions. “The Marvels” incorporates a mix of different genres, including action, science fiction, fantasy, and even some comedy.
There were aspects of the movie that I personally did not enjoy. The main villain, Dar Benn, did not seem as interesting as expected and couldn’t create much conflict due to Carol’s strength, making the confrontation less engaging. However, I enjoyed the scenes featuring the three main characters, Monica, Kamala, and Carol, as their chemistry and teamwork were evident. Additionally, scenes with the flarkens added a wholesome atmosphere and comedy to the movie.
Overall, I rate this movie a 7/10. While I enjoyed watching it, I believe there could be some improvements to enhance the overall experience. I would recommend this movie to those who appreciate action-packed Marvel movies.
