Brandon Meza is a 17 year old senior. Meza is currently a cross country runner for Amrijo. His decision to start running in high school was made because he wanted to continue doing this sport due to the fact he ran in middle school. He enjoys exercising during practice and competing. Speaking of practice, Meza has it everyday after school. Practice takes up most of his day, leaving him with not that much time for other activities after it. Cross country is a permanent part of his daily schedule.
His biggest accomplishment is keeping up “continuous improvement”. He explains that his health got much better ever since he started running, which he stated was the most significant benefit he received from this sport. Back to improvement, this is his main goal when it comes to cross country. Improving is always on his mindset. He always ensures that he is making growth in all aspects and not staying in one place. Meza is all about looking forward and heading into the right direction.
When asked what gets him up during his off days, he responded with, “I just force myself because I know I will just regret not running later on.”. Meza started running in 6th grade, but it wasn’t that serious. Then, he explained, “I continued doing it till 8th grade and I stopped and started again last year.”. Currently, he is extremely dedicated to cross country and wants to “continue improving and run for the rest of my life.”
