Everyone has a name, whether simple, small, or rare and different. With this in mind, I decided to search for a name and found an Armijo Freshman with a name that I’d never heard before. Rhiane, pronounced (rE-ann), Ramos is a high schooler getting used to her next step in school life, but with that next step is others learning her name — Before deep-diving into Ramos’ present, let’s overview her name.
Her name, Rhaine, is a popular name among Filipinos. However, that wasn’t how it was chosen. A popular actress in the Philippines named Rhian Ramos was the inspiration for her name. Her parents decided to name her Rhian but with an E, taking the opportunity because they have the same last name.
Ramos does have small feelings about changing her name to a simpler one. She explained, “One that’s easier for other people to pronounce.” But at the same time, they love their name and find it delightfully unique from others. Supporting the idea of Ramos’ name being unique, she has never met anybody else with the same name.
Even with the constant mispronunciation, Ramos is always open to teaching her name. Sure, it was scary on her first day of high school and many teachers didn’t know how to pronounce it. But overall, Rhiane is a unique name that isn’t commonly used, especially in Armijo. How unique do you consider your name?
