Visiting the dumpling house
Restaurant Review – 88 Bao Bao in Vacaville
Going to a dumpling house was pretty exciting at first. The thought of hot dumplings lingered in my mind. 88 Bao Bao Dumpling House was first opened in 2018. The family came with the idea of “wanting to bring China” to America. The Vacaville location at 1639 E Monte Vista Ave Suite 105 (in the Nut Tree Shopping Center) is one of the latest shops in California.
They have lots of varieties of food on their menu. They have steamed dumplings, fried pot stickers, filled buns, appetizers, noodles, soups, and more. They come in all types of meat and vegetables. They also serve them frozen for later.
When I went there it was the beginning of the week, in the middle of the day. I ordered some noodles, Shanghai Noodles, some Pork Pot Stickers and the steamed Pork XiaoLong Bao, which are steamed dumplings.
The service was pretty good. You order in the front and they bring the food to any table you sit at. We decided to sit outside.
The Shanghai Noodles came really fast and were pretty good. I think the noodles were the best thing I had. They did lack some flavor, in my opinion, but were overall good noodles when you add some chili oil.
Next they brought out the Steamed Dumplings. It took a little while for them to bring them out but they were nice enough to bring it out to us. I didn’t think the dumplings were that great. The juice wasn’t appealing to my taste buds, but my sister enjoyed them and, although they were good, I’ve had better ones.
A little while later they brought out the pot stickers. I enjoyed these a lot more than the steamed dumplings. The juice inside the dumpling was very flavorful, and the outside was crispy. When I added some chili oil it made them last better.
I enjoyed the experience there. I wasn’t a huge fan of their food, but your taste buds are different from everyone else and what I don’t like might appeal to you as it did to my sister.
I would give them a 5/10. The experience was nice and had good service, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the food. I think maybe if I hadn’t gone on a day at the beginning of the week; they might have had a different flavor.
Let me introduce myself. I’m a 14-year old girl, born October 15, 2007, in Vallejo, California. Living in California on those hot days felt as if I were...
