Thank you to the emergency care workers who work around the clock to save lives every day.

National Emergency Services Week, May 21 to 27, honors the first responders who save lives, especially paramedics. This week was first recognized in 1974 when “President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities. This year’s theme is EMS: Where Emergency Care Begins.” (National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians)

  • Sunday – Health, Wellness and Resilience Day
  • Monday – EMS Education Day
  • Tuesday – Safety Tuesday
  • Wednesday – EMS for Children Day
  • Thursday – Save-A-Life Day (CPR & Stop the Bleed)
  • Friday – EMS Recognition Day

Students interested in starting a career in Emergency Medical Services don’t have to travel far to achieve their goals. A program is offered as close as Solano Community College. To find out more about that program, go to https://welcome.solano.edu/emergency-medical-technician/ and maybe you will be one of the honorees in an upcoming National Emergency Services Week.
