Opposites attract in this Hallmark film
DVD Review – A Taste of Romance
A Taste of Romance was a Hallmark Special, originally shown in 2012. It stars Teri Polo as Sara, a French chef who suddenly finds herself in competition with a restaurant next door run by firemen, including a former fireman, Gill (played by James Patrick Stuart).
As is traditional with a Hallmark movie, Gill plays a single father who is raising a young daughter desperately in need of a mother-figure. The romance between Gill and Sara heats up and is challenged by the competition between their restaurants and more.
The film drew varying opinions from reviewers, but it was well-liked by overall by viewers and has since become a fan favorite on the Hallmark Channel.
The romantic connection between Polo and Stuart and the contrast between their restaurants are generally cited as the film’s highlights. After a lot of hard work and dedication, the film was released on January 14, 2012, a month before Valentine’s Day.
I liked the movie and thought it was touching and its success on the Hallmark Channel demonstrates its appeal to a wider audience. It is proof of how successfully the movie stirs up feelings of love, both romantic love and passion for a career.
Overall, the film’s storyline and characters were well-developed, and the cinematography was well-paced. It’s a heartwarming story that is perfect for a cozy night in with loved ones or for anyone who enjoys a good romance film, not to mention the film lasts only 1 hour and 27 minutes.
I spend most of my time watching TV and hanging out with my little sisters. I enjoy watching Stranger Things and eating Mexican food.
