Athlete’s Focus – Aaron Roth
“Track has taught me that no matter how hard things may be, you can't take your eye off your
goal,” said sophomore Aaron Roth.
Roth has been running on Armijo’s Track team since December his freshman year. When asked
about his greatest accomplishment in Track, Roth said, “It was probably coming in second for
my mile and first in my 800 meter run at Dublin my freshman year. It was the first time I ever
won and it felt really good.” In cross country, Roth went undefeated in the league for the same
reason.
Roth’s inspiration include fellow Armijo runners Nixon Mckenzie and Luis Grijalva. “Nixon shows
that hard work pays off and Luis motivates me for the same reason,” Roth said, “Luis shows that
you can do anything you set your mind to, like winning the State Championship for Cross
Country.”
Outside of track, Roth is involved in Student Leadership and the disc golf club. Self described as
laid back, Roth enjoys spending his time exercising outdoors, “I like to play disc golf in my free
time and I love to go on 25-30 mile bike rides to clear my head and get some fresh air.”
After high school, Roth aspires to become a lawyer or follow in his father’s footsteps of
becoming a police officer. When asked about his words of advice, Roth said, “If you put your
mind to it, you can achieve it.”
