If you are ever near Vallejo with an empty stomach, you should stop by King Albert’s Barbecue, located at 26 Tennessee St.

It’s a small shop that serves pork, beef ribs, chicken, and brisket along with wheat or white bread. I went in on a Sunday and had a great experience. Right when I walked in, I was welcomed by the employee wiping down the tables. Automatically I could tell the place was pretty clean.

My mom and I started looking over the menu and decided to just get the two-way combo of barbeque ribs for the both of us, with a side of their mac and cheese. We were offered drinks by the cashier and I ended up getting a pineapple Fanta soda. My mom just got a cup of water which was free.

We sat down and waited about 10-15 minutes until our food was ready. It was quick and the food was fresh and warm. We also got a side of white toast which we dipped in their red sauce. The portions were good considering my mom and I got full off sharing one plate. When I asked the cashier how much a normal plate weighed with the food, I was told 20 ounces which is decent.

The total for our combo itself was $18.95 which I think is a good deal for delicious food. Plus my drink and the mac and cheese, it all added up to be $23.55.

The barbeque had a good amount of sauce and it was easy to bite into. The mac and cheese was like any other really good mac and cheese. As we were eating, an employee checked up on us, making sure everything was okay. We finished and left the restaurant, satisfied with our experience. The place wasn’t extremely packed, and it was relaxing to eat without a lot of people around.

I definitely recommend this place if you want some food that makes you feel at home.
