Ms. St. Vincent enjoys interacting with smiling faces.

Gizzell St. Vincent “has made quite the imprint since she started [as an Attendance Clerk at Armijo] in August 2021,” said a Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) Facebook page. They named her as an FSUSD Champion.

St. Vincent was born in Miami, Florida, but eventually found herself a student at Napa Valley College. Although she has worked with a lot of teachers at Armijo, she said that one of her favorites is English teacher Ms. Elizabeth Leaks, another relatively new face at Armijo.

While St. Vincent loves her job, she said that the hardest part of her job is the mean students that she has to deal with. The one thing that motivates her to work is her daughter, and she tells her that she can do anything she puts her mind to.

Her responsibilities as Attendance Clerk are varied, but one of the things she’s most proud of is her position as Black Student Union (BSU) adviser. “She’s volunteered her lunch break to act as co-adviser for the Black Student Union at Armijo High School while working tirelessly to coordinate with students and staff, planning for the first Black History Month Celebration that took place in February 2022,” the FSUSD Facebook explained.

At the end of the day, St. Vincent loves her job and looking forward to the future.
