Armijo performers prepare new show

Fall play opens Friday, November 4

Armijo High School will soon present Crush! The play, a Sci-Fi / Comedy / Romance / Drama, was written by Stephen Gregg and features an alien, Aspen (Olivia Mauk), who is accompanied by five other invisible bodies.

Aspen is disguised as a high school student, and has landed in the small town of Pin Cushion, California. The local high school is putting on a production of Our Town and no one suspects anything strange about this new student, except for oddball teen Bark (Giordan Gabriel), who can hear and later see the other alien bodies.

Bark is hesitant to share this information, due to some difficult mental health challenges he experienced over the summer, but strange things start to happen. Billboards with giant hearts on them spring up overnight, impossible to open love letters are discovered, and, one by one, love-struck teens end up in comas.

Can Bark and the town be able to stop the aliens before they complete their master plan involving the opening night of Our Town? Come to the Armijo theatre to find out. The play opens on Friday, November 4 and runs on weekends for three weeks. Performances start at 7 pm in T-2, the Black Box Theatre.
