Buddies Not Bullies® PSA (video) Contest

You’ve got the talent to make someone’s day.

Here is YOUR chance to spread the message and bring about awareness.

It happens too often. People of all ages admit they witness cyberbullying, yet do nothing to stop the cycle. At Buddies Not Bullies®
, we believe “Compassion is a Click Away.” By reporting the bullying, refusing to engage or join in on the act, and showing true compassion to the victim, individuals of all ages have the power to end the vicious cycle of cyberbullying.

SPECIFICATIONS:
▪ Students who reside in the United States may enter individually, or in teams of two, three, or four people (no more than four).
▪ Students may not enter more than one PSA with their name upon the entry.
▪ Students enrolled in Public, Private, or currently in Home School may enter.
▪ This is open to students in Grades 4-12, with limited adult assistance. The project should be the creative endeavor of the student(s) involved.
▪ There is no entry fee to enter.
▪ Students will have until midnight Friday October 28, 2022 to enter.
▪ A First, Second and Third Place will be awarded. All winners will earn certificates. The First Place PSA will earn a $100 Amazon Gift Card that winning students may use at their discretion, while the Second Place PSA will win a $50 Amazon Gift Card and the Third Place PSA will win a $30 Amazon Gift Card. (Note: Only one gift card will be awarded to those teams placing First, Second, or Third, regardless if the winning PSA is produced by one or up to four students).
▪ All winning PSAs will be listed on the Buddies Not Bullie® website.
▪ The First Place entry will be promoted and shared on our Buddies Not Bullies ® social media platforms and potentially our website: www.buddiesnotbullies.org If Buddies Not Bullies® chooses, they have the right to do the same with the Second and Third Place entries as well.
▪ All winning PSAs become property of Buddies Not Bullies ®. Buddies Not Bullies® may share, post, or embed winning PSAs.
▪ Buddies Not Bullies ® will not provide written feedback due to the fast turn-around time involved with judging. Students may note that judges will not just look at technical aspects of video production; they are looking for PSAs that address the topic of Cyberbullying.
▪ PSAs must at some point make use of the theme “Compassion is a Click Away” and encourage people to visit www.buddiesnotbullies.org
▪ Please take into consideration the Buddies Not Bullies ® Vision /Mission Statement as you create your PSA Entry. Our mission is to strengthen the lives of children and families by reducing physical, verbal, electronic, and emotional bullying through community collaboration, education, and prevention efforts. The vision of Buddies Not Bullies ® is to create an accepting and inclusive community through increased knowledge and understanding of bullying.
▪ PSAs must be 30 seconds long from start to finish.
▪ Students will be disqualified if copyright is violated, category requirements are not met, or it is found out that content used was not written, recorded, created, etc. by the students creating the PSA. Content should be original.
▪ Students must upload their finished PSA to YouTube or Vimeo. They will need to email the link to Buddies Not Bullies at:
[email protected] by midnight Friday October 28, 2022.
▪ The email must include the following information: Student(s) first and last name(s), age, category, name and contact phone number for an adult who oversaw the project (including but not limited to: teacher, advisor, Youth Group Leader, or a parent if home school), PSA Title, and PSA Link. Title your email subject line as “Buddies Not Bullies PSA Contest”
▪ Example: Students: Susan Smith. John Jones. Age. Category: Middle School. Adult Sponsor: Jessica Jones 555-555-5555. Title: “Words Hurt” Link: www.youtube.com/andabunchofletters
