Be prepared to shine for Make-up Picture Day, September 21.

On Thursday, September 1, students are encouraged to come to school looking their best, because those who did not get their pictures taken before the school year started will be taken out of class to have that taken care of. That will mean that the majority of students will have their ID cards, which is very important in keeping the campus safe.

Starting on Tuesday, students and staff will be expected to wear their ID cards above the waist whenever they are on campus. Anyone who does not have an ID card will be expected to go to the office to get a new card made at the cost of $5. If they do not have a picture on file, they will be able to get one done immediately, but it will not be the same as the yearbook photo.

IDs are an important part of our culture, and there are benefits to having them. They can be used for starting a bank account or cashing a check, but they can also be used to score some pretty impressive discounts. Here is one list of potential discounts for students with IDs: https://due.com/blog/101-discounts-for-high-school-students/.

For students who are absent on September 1, make-up pictures for the yearbook will also be available on Wednesday, September 21, according to Vice Principal Tessa Pryor. These pictures will be taken from 2:30 – 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.
