Places to travel this summer
Are you planning on going on vacation this summer when school’s out of session, but have no idea where to go? This is the article for you!
If COVID fades and travel restrictions remain minimal, here are some of the best places to travel this summer of 2022, abroad and close to home:
France – During the summer, the days are warm and sunny, but there are large crowds, so keep that in mind. Here, you can visit Parisian cafes, parks, beaches along the Seine, and a key place for tourists, the Eiffel Tower. Additionally, there are tours that are held during the summer. In some, Paris is explored in depth, but there are also tours that focus on the military history of the country, the art, or the architecture. Because many people visit to celebrate the anniversary of D-Day in Normandy on June 6, and school doesn’t get out until June 10, you would be able to avoid some of the crowds that flock to the country for the occasion.
Greece – There are many beautiful places to visit here, whether that be in the cities or the beaches. The temperature isn’t excessively hot in the month of June, it’s relatively warm, but progressively increases as the summer moves on. Barring any changes in COVID restrictions, allplaces are open for service, and many festivals take place across the country throughout the summer. For example, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival features theatrical performances in both cities. Additionally, many tours take place that explore the history of the country. A visit to Greece should include a journey to the Greek Islands as well as time spent on mainland Greece.
Australia – When you turn the world upside down, you discover that the winters of Australia are similar to those here in California, but not as cold. Our summer heat can be avoided by a journey to this country where beautiful and diverse landscapes welcome the visitors. There is also a surprisingly wide variety of cuisine to try, from all the different cultures that exist in Australia. Additionally, there are many tours that take place during this season that can be cultural, active, or simply to explore certain landmarks in the country.
If you want to stay in the state, but still have fun and enjoy, beaches are an option, and there are many to choose from. For example there are beaches in Santa Monica, Malibu, San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz and other places where you can actually get into the water comfortably and splash around in the waves. You can also visit National Parks in California. The most popular and most visited one is Yosemite, but there is also Sequoia and Joshua Tree National Parks.
If you have younger siblings, then Disneyland might be a good option, as well as Six Flags or the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
No matter where you decide to travel this summer, make sure you have a good time and enjoy it. You deserve a break after a long period of work, and dealing with life’s mishaps along the way.
