Movie review – Ghostbusters Afterlife
Warning this article has some spoilers for the movie Ghostbusters Afterlife.
This movie is amazing, but not as good as the original version. Ghostbusters Afterlife features most of the original Ghostbusters, except for the actor Harold Ramis, who passed away in 2014. Ghostbusters Afterlife is dedicated to Ramis.
The cast of characters includes Zuul and Gozer and even the ghost of Egon Spengler. The new movie has crazy special effects and an interesting story line. They left it open ended, too, so another Ghostbuster movie may be coming in the future.
It was exciting to try and solve what was going on in the story. The ghost Egon taught his grandchildren how to fix the Proton Packs and how to uses the traps. I thought it was cool that he would interact with them as a ghost, so even though Egon did not return as a normal character, he was still part of the movie.
The reasons why I feel the movie fell short is 1) they had all the original characters except Slimer, and 2) it was kind of confusing when they went to the family after Egon died, but then the movie started really going making it really interesting and easier to follow. They had riddles mixed in scenes and a doomsday calendar.
I highly recommend this movie and would totally watch it again.
