When he heard about the sport, he dove right in.

What do you do if you’ve never heard of a sport before? Well, if you are someone like Jahan Singh, you try out for it.

“The person who introduced me to water polo was a swim teacher at the KROC Center,” said the freshman team member. “So far, water polo and swimming are the only sports I’m participating in.” He is considering trying out for the track team in the spring, however.

“If you are scared to do something like a sport, well, just do it!” Singh said. “You’re scared, but that’s okay. You must face your fears to be able to accomplish something!”

Sports are only one thing that keeps Singh active. “I’m in leadership so I usually help out with the events,” he said. His other hobbies include playing video games, drawing and animating. “Animation is hard!” he said. When he graduates, however, he wants to do it for a living. Right now he has UC Davis on his radar.

Before he gets there, however, he has a lot of time to spend at Armijo and he can see where there could be some improvements to the campus. “I would definitely change the bathroom environment because I hate the bathrooms,” he said. “If only the students were able to keep the bathrooms clean!”

While there are a few students at Armijo who have caused problems for others, Singh recognizes that it is not the majority. “The many people I’ve met here are also really cool!” he said. “Go, Royals!”
