Royals head home for final game
Senior Night on October 29
On Friday, October 22, Vanden High School beat the Royals 67-6 for Armijo’s third and final road game of the year.
Armijo’s defense made some big plays, turning over the Viking offense three times. Isiah “Shoes” Medina caught an interception off a screen pass; Jesus Munguia scooped up a lost fumble; and King Yubari Holmes picked up another loose fumble that was caused by a Aaron Castro tackle, on one of his team-leading six tackles.
David Singleton led the team on the ground again, however he was held to under 90 yards rushing for the first time this season. He gained 61 yards on 25 carries. Kaiba Washington provided a highlight on our only score of the game, leaping over two defenders in the back corner of the end zone for a 21-yard reception from Eddie Concepcion. Washington also tallied five tackles in the game on defense.
The Royals look to celebrate Senior Night at home on Friday, October 29, against rivals Fairfield High. Coach Mosley said that he would love to see everyone in the stands to honor the commitment the seniors have put forward this year.
JV kicks off at 5:15 pm, followed by the Senior Night festivities. The varsity game follows at 7:30 pm.
