Put on your halo, help another
National Be an Angel Day – August 22
National Be an Angel Day, which is celebrated on August 22, was created in 1993 by Jayne Howard Feldman as a way to encourage acts of kindness, according to National Day Calendar.
“By supporting those in need and inspiring others to kindness, we display an act of an angel here on earth. The day also recognizes those who’ve been angels to us. I think this day is very important to some people because a lot of people deserve to be recognized for all the goodness they do” (Facebook).
On National Be an Angel Day, you can either serve others as their personal angel or show your gratitude to someone who has been an angel to you. Offer someone a listening ear, a helping hand, or a shoulder to lean on. “Give patience when you least feel like giving it. Hear the pain below the complaint or the exhaustion under the frustration” (National Day Calendar). Become an angel for those who have served you in the past or for those who are part of your world today, on National Be an Angel Day.
