Keep deadly mistakes from happening
National SAFE Day – June 4
What does it mean to be SAFE? Well, on June 4, National SAFE Day, it means being responsible as a gun owner and making sure that others are also responsible. Whether your family keeps guns for hunting or for protection, there are four simple rules that should be followed to keep everyone in the household safe:
S- Secure all firearms in the home
A- Ask the question about unsecured firearms in the homes your child visits
F- Frequently talk to your children about the dangers of firearms
E- Educate and Empower others to be SAFE
According to National Day Calendar, this day was founded by the Brooklynn Mae Mohler Foundation. The Foundation was named after a woman who was “the victim of a preventable shooting due to an unsecured firearm in a friend’s home” on June 4, 2013. Three years later, National Day Calendar was officially entered as National SAFE Day.
