Iced tea was created as early as the 1870s by Richard Belchynden who was an English merchant. In 1904, he only had hot black tea to sell. As temperatures rose, he brewed a sweeter tea to put over ice to create a new product. This would then increase his sales. (iced-tea-month-June)
