Get out and have fun in June
National Camping Month & National Great Outdoors Month – June
Pack up the camper or fill up your backpack. June is National Camping Month and National Great Outdoors Month.
This is an excellent time to pack up your gear and experience nature, and the options have expanded over the years. Now you can rough it with tents and other rustic sleeping arrangements, opt for a cabin or even a yurt or go all out with a trend called “glamping” that includes fluffy beds and hot and cold water.
Gather your family and friends for an adventure the way you want to celebrate. A visit to a National Park might be just what you need to get away from the COVID-19 talk and take your mind away from the long school year. If you enjoy fishing, many hatcheries have continued to stock catchable trout and salmon smolts throughout the pandemic (cdfgnews). Camping snacks and meals are readily available at nearly every local store. No need to go hungry, no matter what method of camping you choose
National Day Calendar tells us that National Camping Month has been observed since the 1970s and National Great Outdoors Month has been around since 1998.
