Last year’s sequel adds other dimensions to the game.

The Last of Us is a third-person perspective post-zombie apocalyptic multiplayer game created in 2013. You are the main character Joel for most of the game, but in certain clip scenes you’ll play as Ellie.

Joel is the protagonist who is assigned to watch and smuggle Ellie through the game. She is the key to mankind’s cure from the Cordyceps brain infection that has infected lots of the planet (fandom.com).  In the sequel, she also serves as a representative of the LGBTQ community as she is portrayed as a lesbian. These two characters have to survive on their journey surrounded by despair and try not to give up.

In the game, there are a large range of weapons from long distance to melee, depending on your game style. It’s also very easy to acquire needed medical items that you need at that exact moment. The graphics to this game and combat are unique. The storyline is very good but it can be slow and repetitive in cliché zombie tropes.

This game is rated M as due to the gore and killing as well as explicit language from certain characters along the way. It is very straightforward and organized with the cliché twists and turns from horror games.

If you’re up for zombie apocalypse and a good story, I would recommend playing this game and its sequels – The Last of Us: Left Behind, The Last of Us – Remastered and The Last of Us: Part II.
