There’s beauty in every culture.

In a world full of differences, World Day for Cultural Diversity celebrates what we can do to play a part in the world and bring peace, development, and stability (Cultural-Diversity-Day).

The United Nations General Assembly declared that World Day for Cultural Diversity would be celebrated on May 21. The goal was to provide an understanding of the values and cultural differences of the world to advance us forward (Cultural-Diversity-Day).

When we come together, we can conquer issues such as creating sustainability systems, the balance of goods and services, integrating culture into development, and the promotion of human rights and freedoms. These are the four goals of the United Nations.

Accepting cultures and values intellectually, spiritually, and morally is important and something we should do every day. This World Day for Cultural Diversity, we can participate in events, concerts, and more. For example, visiting available museums, watching international documentaries, and volunteering at an organization (National Day Calendar).

Some local museums worth exploring this day include the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum  in Sacramento, or The Latino Center of Art and Culture in Sacramento.
