Safely dive into your summer fun
National Learn to Swim Day – May 15
One of the most favorite seasons is coming up and the weather is starting to change. When it starts getting hot, one of the popular thing to do is go swimming, but it can be dangerous.
National Learn to Swim Day on May 15, the third Saturday of the month, is an opportunity for families to learn the importance of swimming (Learn to Swim Day).
As well as being a chance to cool off in the warmer weather, swimming offers many other benefits. Learning to swim safely makes it possible to enjoy fitness and gain social skills. It’s a year-round exercise and, the younger you start, the more benefits you receive.
Swimming doesn’t have to be restricted to time in a pool, although there are opportunities to enjoy at Allan Witt Park in Fairfield or Three Oaks Community Center in Vacaville. There are also opportunities to swim locally, like at Lake Berryessa. Whatever choice you make, you might want to use this day to sign up to take lessons locally, perhaps at a place like debbiesswimschool .
