Strong games against Vanden April 30
Var 2-2 Tie (0-0-2) Jv 3-1 Win(2-0-0)
Varsity: Armijo came out strong with a goal in the first five minutes by senior Chris Hernandez Gomez. Vanden came back with a goal of their own which left us at 1-to-1 at half. We started strong again with a second goal in the first 10 by sophmore Diego Torres and then competition started picking up and play started getting rough on both sides.
Vanden gained a kick from us with a foul and they were able to tie things up 2-2 which is where we ended after a couple of minutes of adage time due to fouling and Injuries.
It may not be the win we wanted, but it was a solid showing with a couple great goals and the boys kept their head and cool at the end of the game even with the other team acting out.
Junior Varsity (JV): Strong game again with JV. The AHS Royals got the lead early and finished with a 3-1 win. The first goal came in early by freshman Edwin Saucedo and followed by another goal from sophmore Esteban Carcamo. At the end of the first half, the score was at 2-0, but Vanden came back strong and got one in the second half. Then the Royals had the final goal from sophmore Abraham Perez.
Overall, it was a great game from JV again and Varsity picked up the lead early both times but struggled to hold on to the lead. Looking forward to see what next week brings us with two away games.
