Revisiting past for fashion’s future
Fashion – Hot styles for hot weather
Though many people aren’t going outside much during these times, fashion is still moving quickly. Things may be taking a sharp turn now, since the weather is changing and it’s starting to get hot. As many might’ve noticed, retro is in. Younger generations, gen z in particular, like to borrow from decades of the past a fuse them with newer fashion standards to create something new. Though the weather may be getting warmer, big jackets are still in, but with a twist. The oversized blazers with shoulder pads are back from the 80s. Many young women have been sporting these jackets casually rather than with “professional clothing”.
The blazer with more casual clothing and some accessories creates a comfortable, effortless yet fashionable look, according to The Trend Spotter. Face masks are mandatory to keep people safe. The only thing is that they do get annoying when the bright blue surgical mask is out of place with the rest of the outfit. Many have come up with a solution by buying and using black surgical masks, because black goes with everything. The black mask just overall looks more sleek. Some are even going out of their way to make or buy matching cloth face mask which is a good idea to make masks more fashionable and prevent the use of disposable mask, that end up polluting the environment.
Though that does take quite a bit of effort and most are probably better off buying a reusable black face mask. As with every summer, Cosmopolitan tells us that the bare midriff is back, but what’s different this year is how it’s shown. It seems that women are deciding to show midriff in a more elaborate way than just a regular crop top.
What are in are shirts with midriff cutouts. They give a more abstract, artsy look, especially when geometric shapes are used. People have also gone to add flare to a regular crop top by making it strappy. Many have fallen in love with the crop top that has a “strappy silhouette”, especially because it accentuates one’s body shape.
