Don’t let the equipment discourage you.

Ladies, when isn’t it a good time to check up on your body? If your answer wasn’t close to “It’s always a good time,” then maybe you need to start making your health a more important part of your everyday life.

For women, it can be challenging when it comes to health checkups. There are so many things to bring into consideration, so many different types of doctors. Hospitals and clinics all around urge women to get a routine checkup, even those who feel absolutely healthy. It never hurts to get that clarity. That’s being safe and responsible.

National Women’s Check-Up Day, which is always the second Monday of May, is a good day to sit down and schedule an annual checkup. Making this a habit at a young age prepares women for a lifetime of health. Some medical professionals recommend regular visits to provide blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and cancer screenings, dental and eye exams and more as early as 18, but for young women who are sexually active before that, it might be even earlier. It’s important to care for yourself, care for your health, and care for your life in ways people tend to be dismissive of. It’s better to be ahead of the game, being proactive rather than reactive to potential changes in health and well-being. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to care for yourself and life.
