Look up! Every day is beautiful
Look Up at the Sky Day – April 14
The sky is a beautiful thing! Look Up at the Sky Day, April 14, brings special attention to the expanse that covers us.
Among the many benefits to Look Up at the Sky Day is the opportunity to get fresh air and to relax. Whether there is sunshine or rain, the sky can show a variety of moods and beauty. Are you able to see rain clouds this day or are you looking up at clear blue skies. There is no predicting what you’ll see when you enjoy this day.
Jacob “Jack” Borden, a newscaster and founder of For Spacious Skies has been considered the founder of Look Up at the Sky Day, according to National Day Calendar. “In 1978, Jack had a life changing experience. After snoozing for a few minutes in a wooded clearing at the Wachusett Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary, he opened his eyes, and looking straight up, ‘saw more of the sky in a millisecond than I had in my entire 49 years up to that point.’ It was as if he was seeing the sky for the first time. From that day he became committed to promoting the beauty of the sky as a visual feast that anyone, anywhere, and at any time could partake (Obituaries).
So on April 14 and every day, take a minute and think about how beautiful of a day it is and go look up at the sky.
