Laugh until your sides hurt
National Humor Month – April
The sun is probably shining. The birds are probably singing. The people are probably laughing, and they should be. April is National Humor Month!
National Humor Month is a great time to express your humor. The desire to smile, chuckle, and play is closely linked to the way we convey our personalities.
Larry Wilde created National Humor Month in 1976 to show people how humor is a useful tool to improve our ways of life. It’s actually a powerful medicine to help the immune system. “The idea of laughing and the use of humor as a tool to lift ailing spirits is growing. Scientific research now indicates that the curative power of laughter and its ability to relieve debilitating stress and burnout may indeed be one of the great medical discoveries of our times,” Wilde said. Humor really plays a part in our health. This month, because COVID-19 is still around, don’t be afraid to laugh on your Google Meets with funny friends. Tell jokes to each other and laugh.
You can also post on social media with the #NATIONALHUMORMONTH.
Fun facts: this month starts on April Fools’ Day every year. This year marks the 45th anniversary of National Humor Month. How will you celebrate?
