Dress for the job you want
Fashion review – Interview styles
While the economy is struggling to regain its footing, the job market is slowly starting to open up. Fast food restaurants have been busy this year, but if you are planning to move into a different industry, clothing matters. While fashion choices can be an amazing way to show off who you are and what you’re made of, it is important to dress for the job you want because employers are going to start seeing you face-to-face, and not just over Zoom.
Fashion is a good and fun environment for people to try new things, and it has always evolved through the years, but it is better to downplay the extremes if the interview is for a job in an office or restaurant. If you find it in your heart that you want to make a difference in the world, or maybe just make money in a different building, simply attending an interview in a dressier skirt or even a whole outfit can leave a positive lasting impression.
Jeans and sweats are fine for Google Classroom meetings, but interviews require you to step up and make yourself memorable. Choose your outfit carefully, something that you can pattern your work wardrobe after with very little additional investment. Fashion is hard but fun in so many ways. Work fashions take time and dedication, but if you start at the beginning you can find your own style with a bit of flair.
