Laughter changes attitudes every day
National Let’s Laugh Day – March 19
Easter may be the next big candy holiday, but what do you know about National Let’s Laugh Day on March 19?
National Let’s Laugh Day is a day full of “giggles, the guffaws, the snorting chortles, and every other form of laughter we can imagine,” according to the National Day Archives.
National Today calls it “a 24-hour joke-fest… where we celebrate the uniting force of laughter” (https://rb.gy/l3kbt0).
National Let’s Laugh Day is being sponsored this year by Laffy Taffy, a candy that was created in 1971. Laffy Taffy not only shares a name that fits the holiday, but also “provides a joke on every wrapper, making it the funniest candy in the world” (https://rb.gy/l3kbt0).
So ask Siri, Google or Alexa a joke on March 19 and enjoy a laugh. Watch a funny movie or read a funny book. Hang out with friends and just be silly.
Now that I know about this day, I want to celebrate. Before COVID-19, when we were in school, people would tell me all the time that could hear me laughing across campus. Maybe we’ll be able to get that experience again soon, but for National Let’s Laugh Day we can all participate from home.
