National Awkward Moments Day – March 18
Have you ever felt a little embarrassed to talk about something? Was there an experience recently that you don’t want to admit to? There’s a day for that.
National Awkward Moments Day is recognized on March 18. It is a day where people have the chance to talk and remember stories of their own awkward moments that everyone goes through. Talking about those moments can lessen the embarrassment and help us find those things we have in common with each other that we don’t always want to admit.
Awkward moments can happen anytime and anywhere. They are normal, so everyone can relate and find the humor in them. We can either laugh about them or wish that they never happened and hold on to the embarrassment they caused, but we have the choice.
One of my most awkward moments was back in eighth grade when I waved at a staff teacher who thought I was waving at someone me. He was waving at someone else so he ignored me. At that moment I felt really embarrassed and hoped no one saw it happen, but now I realize that it is a normal event. Looking back at that awkward moment now, I just laugh it off, but I will am hesitant to wave at someone until they wave first and I know that they were waving at me.
