Passion for the sport
Minerva Pasion finds baskeball to be a pleasing sport. Pasion has been playing basketball since she was in sixth grade. “There is just so much intensity and you form such great bonds with your teammates,” she said.
“My best game in basketball was in my sophomore year where my best friend Audrey and I were down on the court and I bounce passed a ball from her, did a trick move, and went up for a layup behind my opponent,” said. Pasion.
She not only has had some intense moments on the court, but some funny ones as well. “The funniest moment I have had on the court was when my teammate and I were on the bench our freshman year and she let out a huge one right next to me. I smelled it and quickly looked at her face like there was no tomorrow and she said to me, ‘I a m so sorry, I had Chinese food before I came here,’ and we both busted out laughing. It was honestly a golden moment. It lingered for so long we were worried our coach was going to smell it as he was walking up and down the court.”
It would be difficult for Pasion to choose a superstar she would like to meet. “I do not know who I would want to meet, honestly,” she said. “I think I would want to meet Kobe, Kyrie, Irving, or Michael Jordan because they make nice shoes and it would be a nice opportunity.”
Pasion`s favorite part of basketball is something most people dread. “ I love running and doing layups!” she said. She also enjoys her fellow players.”I fairly do enjoy my teammates this year. We share so much fun together. I am happy that we are bonding and that we are benefiting from the bonds we are forming.”
