APIASF General Scholarship Program – $2500-$20k Awards

SENIORS: Enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2017. Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity. Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the US. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted). Must apply for federal financial aid using the FAFSA. Submit one letter of recommendation online. Deadline: 1/11/17

​National Sojourners 2017 Essay Contest – $2000, $1000, $500

9-12th: Submit essay to local National Sojourners Chapter using “Authorized Cover Sheet”. Essay question: “What do you think George Washington would say about the role of patriotism today, and how would you go about helping others understand what it means to be an American?” Deadline: 1/15/17

Providian Medical Scholarship $500

9-12th: The Providian Medical Scholarship is available to students enrolled in an accredited high school or college in the United States. You must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, be either in your final year of high school or enrolled at the undergraduate level in good academic standing to qualify for this award. An essay of up to 1,500 words that describes how medical equipment technology has changed the face of a college course and curriculum is required.  Deadline: 1/15/17

Girls Impact the World Film Festival Scholarship $5,000

9-12th: The Girls Impact the World Film Festival Scholarship is available to full – time high school and undergraduate students who are ages 25 and under. To be considered, you must submit an original, three – to six – minute short film that addresses global women’s issues such as: education for girls, maternal health, violence against women and girls, or a variety of other issues.  Deadline: 1/20/17

Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship $1,000

9-12th: The Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship is available to high school, undergraduate or graduate students. You must be U.S. citizen or legal resident and submit a short message about technology addiction to qualify for this award.  Deadline: 1/30/17

Association of Women in Mathematics Essay Contest

9-12th: The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Essay Contest on Biographies of Contemporary Women in Mathematics is open to all students in three categories: grades 6 – 8, grades 9 – 12, and college undergraduates. Your essay must be primarily based on an interview with a woman currently working in a mathematical career and be approximately 500 to 1000 words in length. The winning essays will be posted on the AWM web page and the grand prize winner will have his or her essay published in the AWM Newsletter.  Deadline: 1/ 31/17

Immigration Scholarship Essay Contest $2,500

SENIORS: The Immigration Scholarship Essay Contest is open to U.S. citizens accepted to, attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university. You must submit an essay of between 800 and 1000 words on one of the four topics related to immigration listed on the sponsor’s website in order to qualify for this award.  Deadline: 2/1/17

DAR Good Citizen Scholarship

SENIORS: The DAR Good Citizen Scholarship is open to high school seniors who demonstrate the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. You must submit a personal statement and essay to be considered for this award.  Deadline: 2/10/17

AFA Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship $500 – $5000

JUNIORS & SENIORS: 200-word or less autobiography.  Two copies of 1,200 to 1,500 word essay based on topic on Website. Entire submission fastened with paper clip. This scholarship provides an excellent opportunity for college-bound students to give thoughtful consideration to the impact Alzheimer’s disease has on their own lives and others in their family and community. Students are required to submit an autobiography and write a 1,200 to 1,500 word essay that answers the following questions: How has Alzheimer’s disease changed or impacted your life? What have you learned about yourself, your family and/or your community in the face of coping with Alzheimer’s disease?  Deadline: 2/15/17

Abrahamson & Uiterwyk Scholarship Essay Contest $1500

SENIORS WHO ARE 18: Students will be required to write an essay on the topic of distracted driving. Our desire is to help students with their educational goals while also raising awareness about the important issue of distracted driving. Deadline: 2/15/17

Asian Pacific Fund Scholarship Programs: Asian Pacific Fund administers 13 scholarship programs, each with unique eligibility criteria. Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $20,000 and many are renewable. Who can Apply? Incoming or current college students of ny ethnic background.  Must plan to be enrolled full time in the fall. Minimum 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident unless otherwise stated. Deadline: 2/24/17
