Make friends now that you can meet in person later.

On February 11, a special day occurs: National Make a Friend Day!

This particular day is a very motivating day to get out there and make a new friend or two. While it can be challenging during a pandemic, why not take part in a new Zoom activity or join a club meeting at school this week?

Making new friends is a huge opportunity to learn and do new things, and a way to create relationships that can be further developed when face-to-face contact is allowed and encouraged again.

Finding people with similar interests is a plus. Meeting new people can be exceptionally fun, and good for your health, feelings, etc. Talking to people may seem scary, especially when they’re someone you’ve never met before, but taking the time to meet new people can help you a lot. Even if the person lives far away, that is someone you can talk to about things you like, things that you hate, funny incidents, life problems, and more.

Friends don’t need to share the same taste in music, clothes, or food, but it could be a good start. Maybe you’ll find something at https://the-armijo-signal.com/category/entertainment/events/ that looks interesting to you. Sign up for the event and see who else shows up. Don’t let differences discourage you.

You should take the time not only on February 11 on National Make a Friend Day, but take every opportunity to make a new friend.
