Have a little fun with your pet this day
National Dress Up Your Pet Day – January 14
National Dress your Pet Day is a day where you can show off your furry or non-furry friends with costumes, pajamas, sweater and more. This day, which falls on January 14, basically shows off your pets’ fashion style.
According to www.nationaltoday.com, “People dress up to show off their personality. So why shouldn’t your pet do the same? Whether your dog is flirtatious, tough, smart or sassy, she deserves an outfit that matches her persona. Your diva dog can get a pink, bedazzled sweatshirt. Your tough dog can get a doggy crew neck sweater. The options are endless, and we want you to try them all! (And we’re sure your dog does too)”.
It’s true that some pets don’t like getting dressed up and that’s totally fine, they can sit this one out. Not many pets like being dressed because they don’t feel comfortable. For the pets that do like getting dressed up, here are some tips for the owners:
- Make sure the outfit fits your pet
- Make sure your pet is comfortable and isn’t forced to dress up
- Avoid hanging objects because pets like to chew and it can be dangerous
- Make sure what they are wearing is not too heavy
- Make sure your pet isn’t allergic to any of the material
- Always make sure your pet is safe at all times and have eyes on them.
The reason why we celebrate this is to show the endless love we have for our pets. Celebrating is much more fun with your pet and especially if they get to dress up, so in mid-January, as we wait for the next round of traditional holidays, celebrate National Dress Up Your Pet Day.
