Did you see this day coming?
International Ninja Day – December 5
Ninjas, also known as shinobi, were Japanese trained spies claimed to be masters in stealth and espionage, having many tools at their disposal to achieve their missions. Don’t be surprised if you fall victim to a ninja on December 5, International Ninja Day.
The impact ninjas have had historically makes them prominent in pop culture. From movies to products to games, ninjas have almost romanticized themselves with the big screen.
Where did ninjas come from, though? It is said they date back to around the 15th century, trained as covert agents or mercenaries in a Japan fueled by feudalism. They are infamous enough to be rumored to have legendary abilities.
Despite ninjas being known for their stealth, International Ninja Day is known and celebrated worldwide. Many come together to celebrate the impact that ninjas have had in pop cultures, whether by watching movies that have ninjas in them, of which there are plenty, playing video games that have ninja-centered characters, or by dressing up as a ninja and sneaking around the neighborhood, which may seem a little creepy.
I encourage you to celebrate in whatever way you are comfortable. The impact ninjas have left on the world is more than enough reason to celebrate International Ninja Day, so don’t let this December 5 sneak away from you.
