What princess do you dream of being?
National Princess Day – November 18
Make sure to celebrate your inner princess on National Princess Day November 18! This day gives everyone a chance to treat the princess inside and pamper ourselves.
Being a princess doesn’t necessarily mean being born into royalty. As said by www.NationalToday.com, “The definition of a princess is constantly changing.” We used to be given the perception that princesses needed to be saved by a prince, but now we’re shown that princesses can be strong and independent.
“Nest Family Entertainment teamed up with Rich Animation in 1994 to create the animated film The Swan Princess – a musical adaptation of Swan Lake,” www.NationalToday.com says. “The studio wanted people of every age to have a day to celebrate like royalty, embodying the kindness and grace that we all associated with princess at the time — and thus, National Princess Day was created”.
Psychology Today tells us that princesses “provide examples of ‘women who rule,’ showing women and girls that they can be accepted as the heroines of their own stories and lead with wisdom and maturity.” While traditionally princesses are considered female, modern princesses don’t have to be restricted by gender.
Screenrant has several stories about Disney princesses, from Cinderella to Moana, at https://screenrant.com/tag/disney-princesses/. On screen, with the help of princesses, we’re given the hope and potential to lead our own lives and make our own destinies.
To celebrate this day, National Day Calendar has given us #NationalPrincessDay to browse through everyone’s National Princess Day experience. What will yours be?
