Fast food has actually played an important role in United States history. Fast food restaurants became a thing in the ‘40s and late ‘50s because of World War II. During those times, people had to be more frugal with their money because the war that caused rationing and a bad economy.
According to the National Day Calendar, one of the first major fast food chains that popularized the concept of fast food was White Castle. It started with Walter Anderson who sold hamburgers from an old car in Wichita. His small business became so popular that he ended up opening the first White Castle in the same city in 1921. Since then America has the largest fast food industry in the world. The only way to celebrate is to go out and buy some food from a fast food restaurant.
Many fast food restaurants actually give discounts on this day, so it is a great idea to check social media and your favorite restaurant’s website so see what types of deals might be offered.
