Applying for a scholarship is easy and often quite rewarding.

If you are a high school student—and especially if you are either a junior or senior—it is important to think about your future. If this future includes any sort of further pursuit of education, grants and scholarships will aid tremendously with the costs. This is especially helpful if you are aspiring to attend a university, of which tuitions are notoriously unaffordable.

Scholarships are like awards that you can win that are dedicated to college tuition. Unlike loans, you don’t have to pay back the money you’ve earned from a scholarship. There are different kinds of scholarships, which are purposed to display all of your best qualities. There are always choices for sports, academic, unique achievements, family background, and more. You can use them to show off your best self.

November is National Scholarship Month, which is recognized to spread awareness of scholarship and other student financial aid opportunities to incoming college students. You can apply to scholarships online, anywhere. If you want to find opportunities more personalized for the kind of person you are, or accomplishments you have made, here’s a few websites that you can use to make an account and easily apply to any scholarships available: tallo, scholarships, and cappex.

You can also talk to your counselor or Ms. Sandy Anderson (aka the College and Career adviser) at [email protected] if you have any questions about scholarships, or college in general.
