We say fruit, but you can choose vegetables, too
National Fruit at Work Day – October 6
On October 6, The FruitGuys are hoping you’ll celebrate their holiday: National Fruit at Work Day.
The FruitGuys is a company that is an industrial leader in delivering farm-fresh fruit to the American workplace. This well constructed company is the fastest growing category to provide offices with healthy snacks nationwide, and was founded in 1998 (https://www.nationalfruitatworkday.com/)
This day was created in 2000 to promote the benefits of eating fruits at work. During this day, some people even dress up like fruit, act fruity, or even wear fruit to show their excitement, but it is really simple for anyone to celebrate. They just have to take fruit to eat at work, either on your regular break and/or on your lunch break.
The company that created this day even encourages participants to consider veggies at work, too, since they are very tasty and good for you.
If you don’t have a job of your own, to ahead and share a piece of fruit with your parents or other adults before they leave for their job, and help them celebrate National Fruit at Work Day.
The observance takes place during a time of year when many stone fruits come into season – peaches, plums, apricots and more. As the season changes and new fruits and vegetables are more available, it’s an excellent time to enjoy them for the first time since last season.
This is a very important day because it stresses the importance of eating and being as healthy as you can be.
