Computers need programmers, so we do, too
The Day of the Programmer – September 12
The Day of the Programmer, which will take place on Saturday, September 12, honors programmers around the world. There is a reason that this date was chosen, and it ties into what a programmer does. September 12 is the 256th day of the year and represents the eight-bit byte (28) that programmers work with. “This digit makes it the highest power of two that is less than 365. When translated to binary code, the day reads 1 0000 0000.” (Facebook)
Programmers are needed around the world and it is a growing field. Programmers are used in the media, the military, the government and more. Programmers are vital to set up and organize those projects around the world and The Day of the Programmer has been unofficially recognized since 2007, although it has been officially observed in Russia since 2009, when former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev (who currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia) signed a decree to honor this day and its participants.
