National Make Your Bed Day – September 11
National Make Your Bed Day (September 11) was started because people wanted to help motivate others to start a habit of making their bed every day. The act of making the bed as the first task of the day is considered a way to make the day successful.
This national day is celebrated by waking up and making your bed before going on with the day. Usually, people who don’t make the beds only sleep about 6½ hours every night and wake up tired in the morning, one of the reasons they attribute to not making the bed.
Making your bed benefits you to feel in a better and more comfortable environment it is also known to help have a more restful sleep. While developing this habit is generally viewed as positive, there are some drawbacks to making the bed. Doing it too frequently can keep in the moisture in the sheets and bring in dust mites.
Statistically, 76% of people make their beds ‘sometimes’ but only 7% say that they don’t make their beds at all (Fun stats). Bedding and sheets should be changed out and washed every two weeks, and the benefits of making the bed seem to have more benefits than drawbacks.
