This New York university allows an educational oasis within the community.

Syracuse University (SU), located in New York, is considered one of the best colleges in the United States. The graduation rate is around 81% while the acceptance rate is around 47%. It’s not impossible to attend Syracuse University, but definitely not easy.

In addition to being one of the most prestigious educational institutions, it is also one of the most expensive, often compared to Brown or Yale. SU requires applicants to be “above average” students in high school with a GPA of at least 3.67 and an SAT score of around 1300, or an ACT score around 27.

Their most famous programs are journalism, communications, social sciences, business, marketing, and management. While education is important, athletics are also a focus of the school, with 17 different types of sports for men and women, but just over 808 students are athletes. SU is very much about school spirit. Their official color is orange and they have their official hashtag, #BeOrange. Even the mascot, “Otto the Orange” is filled with school spirit, and that spirit is displayed on campus in many ways.

Students at Syracuse create the campus living. The school allows students to have more control than many other schools, with the goal for them to reach their full potential through a personalized path in life.
