National Say Something Nice Day complements you well
While every day should be a day to compliment or encourage someone, there is an official day set aside for this particular activity. National Say Something Nice Day is on June 1. On this day, people are encouraged to be intentionally kind to everyone and say something nice to each person. It is a chance to focus on spreading cheer and joy that day.
Students might consider texting a friend with a nice message or emailing a teacher. It can be a great opportunity to compliment a parent or call someone and resolve a difference that might have occurred from a misunderstanding. There are a lot of nice things to say, and it might be that those opportunities are carried out for the rest of the month, and habits developed for the rest of the year, or even a lifetime.
National Say Something Nice Day started in Charleston, North Carolina in 2006 when Mitch Carnell decided that there should be at least one day when people are focused on sharing positive messages with the world around them. When people see the results, it is hoped that the habit will go far beyond the annual observance.
