Huey Lewis and the News is an old music band that had a mixture of different genres of music, including blues, pop and rock. One of its members, Johnny Colla, even attended Armijo High School.

Their biggest hit was The Power of Love album, which was released in 1985. With Huey Lewis and Anthony Cregg III as the lead singers, they were able to accomplish many things, including earning awards like the American Music Award for Favorite Duo or Group Pop/Rock, the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Single, the British Award for International Group American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Video, and the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group Video Artist.

Another one of their popular albums is called Sports. This album, which was released in 1983, features 14 songs. The music is cool if you are into oldies rock but, if not, this isn’t for you.

The song I found most interesting was one of their biggest hits on the radio and on video, The Heart of Rock and Roll. Until I listened to this album, I didn’t know who this band was, but my grandma did and she is very into it.

Sadly, while working on their first album since 2010 (which was Soulsville), Huey Lewis suffered from hearing loss in 2018 due to Ménière’s disease. That didn’t stop the band from completing their tenth album, Weather, on Valentine’s Day 2020. Huey Lewis is looking forward to making more music, despite his handicap.
