COVID-19 might just have changed the date of the big event, not the opportunity.

It may be out of the question to prepare for Prom this year, but that doesn’t mean people won’t be hosting big shindigs when all of this is over, and when businesses open up again and people want to get their groove on, it is time to plan for perfection.

First, you need to book an appointment for hair, nails, and makeup. You also need to buy a dress, shoes, and jewelry. Gentlemen might even consider doing it up big and renting a tuxedo, which means setting up a fitting and reserving the outfit for the special night.

Ladies, you should book your hairstylist at least a few weeks or even a month before, if you have the opportunity, just to ensure that your stylist is still available. There are many recommended places to get your hair done, like Ulta Beauty, Generations Hair Studio, or Twisted, which all have some really good reviews. The prices range from $30 to $55.

You should book your make-up appointment to one or two months before, if you have a chance, to ensure that your make-up artist isn’t busy. If you want to look fabulous, you may end up spending up to $80, but the pictures of the night to remember will be well worth it in years to come.

It is highly recommended that, if you want to get your nails done, you should get them done the day before or no more than a week before just to make sure they don’t get ruined. A good manicure can cost between $25-$35, but may be as high as $60 which might include designs or jewels. There are a few well-known places to get your nails done: Allure Salon, Pure Nails, Jessica’s Private Nail Studio, or Lisa’s Nails, to name a few.

For the guys, you guys can rent or buy a tuxedo. It is recommended that you rent, unless you have a lot of parties to go to in the next few months. Rentals can be up to $100 and one of the most popular places to go for the type of tuxedo you want is Men’s Wearhouse in the mall,

The type of dress that would be appropriate for a blow-out party can cost from $100 to $600 or more, depending on what you like. They can be found at Macy’s, David’s Bridal, Windsor, or JCPenney.

You can shop for heels, or any dress shoes, at Macy’s, Aldo, or Windsor. Be prepared to spend up to $80 or more, but make sure they are comfortable. When you are finally able to be around the crowds, you’ll want to dance the night away.

Finally, top it off with accessories that you find appropriate, accessories that can be found at Windsor JCPenney, Pandora Jewelry or Claire’s.

It is well known that many students spend almost $1,000 or more on Prom, so if you are planning on going to a party that replaces that event, be prepared for a similar level of cost.
