Tennis – when one isn’t a lonely number
“I love tennis!” said Arshbir Brar, who plays for Armijo’s Boys’ Tennis team and started playing the sport when he was in ninth grade.
Brar started getting really serious about the game when he was a junior because, he said, that’s when he was getting really good. This is his first year playing as a Singles player and he has loved it so far, despite the new challenges he faces.
“Tennis can be difficult in some cases, yes, because I can always improve, but it’s going pretty well so far,” he said. Brar said that, if he had to pick between winning and losing, he learns more from winning because, whenever he wins, he just gets excited and learns the next skills faster than before without stressing about his past losses.
He likes practicing and hanging out with his friends, but dislikes losing. Something that actually motivates Brar to get better at tennis is watching his friends become better than he is.
He would recommend tennis to anyone considering the sport because it’s not that hard to get the hang of.
