On February 6, Varsity boys faced a challenging opponent, JV scored a win..

Varsity: 3-1 W (4-1-1) 1st place in league
Jv: 2-0 L (1-3-2)
Varsity: Great game by the boys Thursday, January 30! They had so many good plays happen and some solid work up in our attacking 3rd. 1st goal was by senior Pancho Rodriguez about 22 minutes into the first half by following up on a rebound. Next goal was by freshman, Diego Torres, in the last six minutes with a beautiful cross from senior Brandon Ascher. Unfortunately Vacaville was able to get a pen in against senior keep Antonio Ruiz Vera, leaving Armijo at 2-1 at halftime. The boys came back strong for second half and Armijo was able to sink a third goal in the last 15 minutes by junior Jasson Diaz, who we recently moved up from junior varsity (JV) to join the varsity squad. Coach Flores said that she is so proud of the boys and what they brought to the game’s hard fought win.
JV: It was a strong battle by JV, but they just couldn’t step up to the challenge Thursday night and get those goals. Vacaville was able to get one great long ball in over the Armijo goal keep and then got a pk against the Royals’ keeper, which they got in with a solid shot against a field player who stepped up to the plate. Hopefully JV is able to bring their momentum back up and finish strong for rest of league.
The Boys’ Soccer team takes on Wood, our strongest opponent, at Armijo on Tuesday night, February 4.
